I've been on the internet probably for significantly longer than you've been alive (assuming 15-17 years old), I made a reddit account in around 2008, couple of years after I started using this site. The reddit at the time was gaia, reddit was just a news aggregator with a voting system attached, which honestly was pretty cool.
You, however, made a reddit account because you enjoyed modern reddit, you are a bonafide redditor, to the point where you've internalized typing like a redditor and using reddit's signature argument style. This is not a bad thing, this whole site and specifically this board has been just a venting box for redditors since 2015 or so.
Asian cultures have no individualism. They're not built for that. They vote to the same party, if they vote at all. They consume the same products, they watch the same shows, they like the same things and they hate the same things. If you had any idea of japanese culture more than vtubers and anime you'd know this. Before Mao there was the KMT and before that there was a 5k year old legalist regime, not that you'd know. Asian cultures are about uniformity, cohesion and community.
his is what you like in them, but you also have emotional stake in western culture, that is built on competition and individualism, so its normal that you have severe cognitive dissonance. To have to praise the conformity you hate here because it has an "x, Japan" label. To have to praise strict social immobility and cancel culture in Japan and then having to pull up your mental stoppers to not think about the similarities of kpop (something you hate) and idol culture (something you like).
You like or hate things based on whether or not they're reddit or cringe or based or western or woke or whatever other buzzword you want to attach to whatever concept, because you're incapable of individual thought. You're a monkey responding to red and blue lights.
Western woke garbage is what you produce when trying to imitate a culture so alien to you you cant even begin to understand it.
Western woke garbage is the only thing you're actually able to consume, thats why you need to filter everything in terms of rightthink-wrongthink to be able to enjoy them.
If you had any real intuition of japanese culture you wouldn't disagree with a post on what japanese corporate culture is like. If you had worked in asia or if you had had any sort of contact with asians at all we wouldnt be having this conversation. Asian culture is a legalistic confuncian monolith, this is not debatable.
