No, and it didn't make her less popular either, she's the exact same as before in popularity, maybe a few new fans came in and some old fans left but mostly still the same people watching her.

The opposite and I don't even particularlly like the bottom one.
The first one is very generic aside from loli, second one has interesting and uncommon rendering style for a vtuber model.

Hiyos toddler, loli and mommy designs are also the right way of doing it, there is similarity between them.
Shizu completely shit on a legacy of her old design just to chase booby bucks. (that seems to have failed)
Shame.
If you at least kept the overall look of the face, continuity would have been preserved to some extent and people wouldn't have been weirded out by the changes and none of that drama would have existed.
Money down the drain for nothing.

Note - it is a technically good design, it's just clashy with respect to the old design.
