The timeframe matters because jobs usually have a probationary period where a new hire will be scrutinized for how well they're performing, how well they fit in with their team and company culture.
If you have multiple actions that management deems to be infractions in a probationary timeframe, that shit adds up. If you refuse to change your attitude and actions despite management intervention, that adds up.
If you start publicly liking "they deserved better than you, their loss" comments on your PL youtube, then change your PL twitter name to say "jet black" while you're suspended and suppose to stfu and cool down? There's not a company in the world that wouldn't fire you.
