>>44955017We need at least one elfriend in here... Alright:
She doesn't do it to be contrarian. She does it because she gets extremely sad when she gets blamed for somehow disappointing people who have come at her with a bag of unfounded expectations.
She will shut down labels that try to put her in a position where she has to start acting out a role instead of being herself. If the labels stop getting spread, then false expectations won't arise. That is her logic.
Is it working? Yes, in japan. EOPs, though, are still struggling and trying (as seen in this thread) to push misguided expectations on her. This is also why you see more translated clips of her just talking about issues lately, to give you all a chance to update yourselves on stuff relating to her.
>Dark elf? Too kind and caring, if she accepted the label, people would expect her to prank, play tricks and tease.
>Coffee elf? Coffee is too bitter, if she accepted the label, people would expect her to drink it and talk about it.
>Bows? Slow firing, charge-up, arching projectile. She doesn't enjoy any of that, she won't have fun, and will not be able to perform to the standard people would want her to ("she's a half-elf so she must be a pro!"). So it's better to reject them.
>Cool? Her idea of cool is very Japanese. It means to be indifferent, unemotional, hidden strength. When flare gets requests to be "cool" she always says she doesn't have the confidence to pull it off. She tried for the first 3 months after debut, but has said that it was miserable, she couldn't react, couldn't laugh and her throat hurt from the strain. All to uphold a image that didn't actually get her any extra popularity, so she dropped the act.
>Shipping? Like last point, Flare is done playing a fake role with a script. She wants viewers to be able to trust her interactions are more real and not embellished. She hasn't stopped being close to anyone, if anything she is closer to even more people now. She teetee's with every collab partner, every tiime, all the time. The goal was to reduce the gap between off-stream and on-stream interactions.
>Old outfit? Her words is that she wasn't allowed to use the Live2D. During the year she was using her kimono, 95% of thumbnails featured the old outfit, because that was still her official design, she used it there, she used her 3D, both at studio and home, her stream loading animations etc. all featured it. Only the L2D was restricted, and that was due to management for unknown reasons.
>Among us? She doesn't want to be put in a position where she is forced so start doubting the words of her friends. People have this wonky idea that she hates all lies or something... No, she just trusts that everything her friends tell her is honest and true.
She will go along with any labels and teases that actually reflect who she is. If you watch her sometime, notice how she is always having a great time laughing at the stuff chat throws at her.
