I speak several languagues and was able to talk with some of the locals and i have also spoken with people from all over europe that were in an exchange program or whatever and i can assure you when cornered about it all of them admitted that americans are quite stupid on the average and can be rather annoying. They have really deep pockets so people tolerate them and are "happy" to see them, the same way a farmer is happy to see his cows, but thats about it
