>>471217>You will need to be more specific with what you perceive as "legal rights" then and where exactly trans people are faltering so badly, because yes I must be missing it.The right to serve in the army is still hotly contested, being barred as recently as 2019. The right to marry or adopt as a cis woman in Britain is as simple as providing a passport as a form of ID, but a trans woman will be held to scrutiny even if their passport reflects their identity (F). Children lack access to hormone blockers globally. Cis men and women have easier access to medications and surgery to make their lives easier (slowing hair loss, raising low testosterone levels, breast reduction surgery, etc.) than trans people do, leading to long wait times during crucial periods of a trans person's life where not being able to take the medical steps of transitioning can deeply affect their psyche. Trans people are statistically more likely to be targets of violence, and statistically fall victim to unemployment and poverty, but no politician prioritizes these issues and most don't even acknowledge they exist.
I could go on, literally. It's very easy to just google this kind of stuff. You seem to be an articulate and reasonable person, so if you are both of those things and also "neutral", then you should be able to do this kind of research on your own so you can continue to be neutral.
For the record, I agree that people shouldn't use entertainers as a mouthpiece for their personal lives. Giving a streamer $20 so they say "trans rights" is weird, and so is giving them $20 so say "Happy birthday Tommy" or something. It puts streamers in a shitty position where they feel obligated to say shit they may not wanna say for fear of feeling like they cheated a dono out of money.
> I am largely neutral on the matter and am just explaining the factual nature of how this is a divisive issue. Not sure how you were offended by what I said. I'm stating a simple fact myself; you're trying to argue in good faith that trans people don't seem to lack rights as another person is literally shouting over you that trans people are freaks of nature and are mentally unstable.
>this is a polemic topic and should not be approached by entertainers. You're right, it is. But it's not very "neutral" to attribute the polemic nature of this discourse to the people asking to be treated like human beings rather than the people frothing at the mouth calling trans people freaks.
