They could just say something like "I will be going to Japan or doing an offcollab some time in the next few months", and then spring it on us suddenly. She could even go to Japan without announcing it, and then announce while in Japan that she'll be doing an offcollab a day or two beforehand. I get that their managers can be retarded sometimes though.
