>>536914Usually, people just answer the question of "so what are you" if it's not clear; in Japan dudes voicing girl-character vtubers are a known thing - it's a babiniku. If we know the answer, it's really not a big deal.
Usually, this doesn't need to ever even be asked. You can just hear if someone's a girl or dude. The brain is extremely tuned at picking this out. This individual however doesn't want to address that despite sounding quite audibly, not like a female. Which is its prerogative, however, it's rather audibly not even close ... so it's insulting to our intelligence/ears to pretend you don't need to acknowledge it and think people will be fooled. If it's not about trying to pretend, and is also because of some politics/ethics thing tinging the question, then that is now not just patronizing behavior but is an outright affront to us, a dangerous invasion of a space that strives to be as apolitical as possible. Which is to say, it's outright fucking cancerous behavior. Couple that with the obvious leeching tactics tweeting at and invading the chat of the ENs, which as was said above is real fucking brazen and rude, and you have a recipe for unbridled hatred.
There's no shame in being a babiniku really. I think if he just came clean and stopped treating us like we're naive idiots and/or trying to politicize what is ideally a pure apolitical scene, we would no longer have issues. He likes the Holos so much and wants to model himself off them? Don't fucking politicize shit. Being honest and down-to-earth would come across far better than this ongoing charade. People are open to liking babiniku, even here - Kano catching on despite being outed on the first day is absolute proof of that.
