Today's HFZ stream is one for the ages. I feel sorry for you if you didn't see it live. Here are some key takeaways for the stream:
>FIGHT FOREVER
My absolute favorite from this stream is definitely the four-way tables match that lasted a whopping forty minutes. I know that might sound like a long time, but trust me, it was worth every minute. The opinion about glitches and 2k jank is a polarizing one, and I'm on the side of it being the necessary spice to a typical HFZ stream. If you are like me who think VOD watching faggots are scum of the earth that should be hanged, you'll find that being an avid consumer of the show can sometimes make matches feel formulaic and predictable, this four-way tables match kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. When no one wanted to use tables and forced OP to watch and squirm as it kept falling back down or when the superstars kept propping it up on stupid spots no one could reach? It was absolute genius.
When OP finally decided that it was time to intervene and Watame responded by immediately flipping the proverbial bird at OP's feeble attempt to stop the jank kino? I was almost ready to believe that there is a ghost in the machine, a strange sapience whose primary goal is to subvert whatever OP has planned.
Overall, this has become one of my most favorite tables and HFZ matches in general.
>RETURNING WRESTLERS
It's not always easy to bring back old talent and integrate them into modern storylines, but I believe in this case HFZ has nailed what makes it good. Regardless of your opinion about bringing back retired or old superstars, what made these nostalgia matches stand out in this stream was the way they were treated with reverence and respect. It made sense for who was brought back and who they were fighting. It was done in a way that made sense. Even in a narrative perspective, the Evoluuuution stable includes THE PAST in its core members. For them to be the rising stable of the current HFZ arc and not bring back at least one of the old guard would be inherently wasteful of the potential of this stable.
Let's also not forget the pure entertainment value of these matches. Seeing legends like Kiryu Coco and Tsukumo Sana back in the ring was an absolute treat. I should remind everyone that these two were some of the biggest names in HFZ history. It's undeniable how much impact and fans wanted to see them in action in the main stage once more, especially now that we are enabled with the modern technologies of WWE 2k23.
>OVERALL
I have high hopes for 2k23. Even though I already saw glimpses of its greatness during the test stream, I believe this confirms it being a solid foundation for future HFZ streams. I'm looking forward to seeing more of it soon.
