Yes, while they had good ideas, wanting to be the wastern Holo can only get you so far.
I auditioned for them, gave them ideas from the start, more ads, more publicity, focusing more in entertainment instead of talent.
Of course, I was a Who? at the time so I get why I might have sound ridiculous and crazy in their eyes.
Debuted a gen full of, while talented people, not entretainers, not entertaining at all. Weak debuts, same thing in the next gen, or even worse.
A lot of investments in things that now I see didn't matter at all, weren't the actual important things.
I truly believed in Tsunderia, loved most of the talents they had at the time, but their full transparency, as a company, was their demise.
As some other anon said, even Niji stole and copied some of their ideas thanks to the backstabbing rat, but even then they never seemed to find a momentum they could ride.
Don't even get me started on how they controlled some of the talents and killed ideas that would give them numbers instantly over the fear of backlash, Miori for example.
Letting the slug go was one of their biggest mistakes, and the beginning of the end for them. Then Char followed, then Purin, Ami, at that point Tsunderia doesn't exist anymore, right?
Wanting to become the Holo of the west.. wanting to be something that you aren't is never a good idea, fake it till you make it doesn't apply in cases like this. They had great talents that are now thriving outside of their leash, so that should tell you something.
My feelings for Tsunderia are very mixed, the potential was there, the money and momentum, but it was never used, and never taken advantage of.
Also they are very VERY unlucky.
