Is it possible that they are trying to appeal to a different audience? That would seem to be the more obvious reason for adding more boys. From what I understand, Hololive's audience skews very heavily male, so perhaps they want to bring in more female fans by debuting more male chuubas. I'm not sure though what the audience demographics of the existing Holoboys are though.

Now compare them to Niji where they never had that issue and can grow with their peers and become more popular than their female counterparts as male streamers are naturally more regarded than female streamers.
