Smart money knows of course that giving over 50% of your profits to a label whose marketing et al. nets you 100 000 000 ¥ in sales is infinitely better than giving 10% of your profits to an agency that nets you 100 000 ¥ in sales. But at this point Hololive might be at a point in its popularity where a record label couldn't really offer anything more to a chuuba, but at the same time not so big that a chuuba could leverage their status as a Hololive member to get a better deal.
There was a thread a while back where people were speculating based on something a couple of Hololive members had said that they might have a very good deal indeed with Cover when it comes to their self-commissioned original songs (Cover commissioned songs like Bloom are a different thing for obvious reasons). But I forget who said what and couldn't find it with 1 minute of searching.
