All things considered the only song that performed wildly under expectations is the StartEnd cover. But you could argue it's because it was too similar to the previous one.
MHT MV was a flop moreso than the song, the views were even closer before the album playlist was released. The song was also underwhelming.
Everything else is about what you would expect. The biggest problem is either no MV or the MV being delayed for weeks, months, or even indefinitely.
I do think there were some changes in how songs get recommended. But I think the main issue is that there is market over saturation. Songs and covers used to stand out. Now they're released all the time.
ID members like Kobo and to a lesser extent EN members have an advantage because they're operating in a less saturated market.
