The pyramid can be made out of gold, iron, diamond, emerald, and/or netherite blocks. What material(s) you use to make the pyramid has no affect on the buff. Creating a beacon fully out of netherite blocks is purely just to show off.
However, Kaela is thinking too small here. To get all six, full power buffs a beacon can provide, you need 6 beacons. The actual beacon block can share pyramid structure with other beacons. That's not good enough. Kaela should make six full Netherite beacon pyramids.
