Some people just love staying on the proverbial hamster wheel. A friend of mine gets visibly agitated and his emotional state gets erratic if he's away from a job for too long, which for him is like a week off. Maybe it's a brain chemistry thing, maybe his fucked up boomer parents molded him into a psychotic work addict, who knows with these people. Retirement is probably a nightmare for this type.
