But there's still an expectation that the bread and butter of a holo's public social interactions will be within the hololive family.
Kiara gets shit on for this too, at least because of the Vshoujo debacle, but people let it slide for the most part because she worked hard, paid her dues to the rest of the company, has kept her side hustle separate, and has earned a longer leash. This enthusiasm for being hololive first and foremost is what entitles holos to their proclivities.
It's only because mori lacks that passion for hololive that she gets so much flack for exploiting the brand her senpai built up. By neglecting to interact and ingratiate herself with them, and instead chasing self promotion as well as collabs with outside randos first and foremost, she's basically painted herself as a scumbag whose pumping and dumping yagoo's dream. This whole drama is entirely self inflicted, and either she improves her asskissing game or falls out of favor.
As a reference, the drama with Ame, kiara and gura were all because people were ironically thrilled with joking about happenings. This is different. People aren't complaining about mori's past. Fans are genuinely losing patience with her present self. That's when a vtuber should be worried about antis. When people start beating you over the head with what you're doing RIGHT NOW IN THE PRESENT, that's when you know it's time for mori to gitgud or get rekt. It's her choice, and she really needs to decide which is more important to her. If she wants to pursue an indie streaming/music career then the ingrate should just graduate early. Otherwise, she should dump her side hustle and ape into making the best of her time as a Holo in order to swing it into other opportunities down the line. Even after retiring, there'd likely still be a role for Calli sentai to play within the vtubing space. If she even wants it.
