In regards to singing she's definitely more on the hard work side than the natural talent side.

Meh, people with less vocal talent like Marine and Fauna have better songs than a lot of her repertoire. Unison is hands down the best orisong in vtubing, Risu is the best singer in Hololive, etc.
But Suityan is prolific and credit where it is due, don't like any of her songs except for Sui-chan no Maintenance and Debutante Ball, the latter being a banger and in Hololive's top 5 songs.

Risu and Moona have more raw talent than Suisei. The just don't have the same opportunities. Risu would be a superstar if she got shilled even a fraction as hard as Suisei does.

while i do agree that risu and moona are very talented, suisei didn't start getting shilled till stellar stellar started blowing up. she's always had the same opportunities as everyone else, she just goes the extra mile on other things like not taking no for an answer, networking herself, and just generally grinding. her first album was a compilation album of orisongs she'd payed for by herself through the years. i won't lie like JP branch doesn't get way more collabs and sponsors now but that's just because it's a JP company first before anything else so of course they get first pick for everything. SEAbros better show out when holoID gets a live show so they can show cover they need more support.

While I agree that Risu and Moona are great at singing and Risu is most likely the best singer if you judge purely by singing technique and vocal range, for me, Suisei has a more interesting voice that gives the songs a special taste. Risu's singing and her range are amazing, but she lacks something that would make me wanna listen to her more. Suisei's singing is more captivating for me.

i've already talked about this but her real talent is her perseverance. when she was starting out she actually sucked at singing, now she's got producers, music analysts, fellow singers and coworkers, indies and the general audience all wetting themselves from her voice. as you said, admirable.

Sora has been the face of hololive front and center, have multiple albums, and has been doing it for 6 years now. Yet not a single song from her have been a hit. You can argue she's a good singer, not really imo, but her voice definitely doesn't wow anyone if you hear her the first time

Suisei's skill is marketing herself. The one shilling Suisei is none other than herself and back then when she wasn't big she had to keep pushing Cover to let her do things and give her songs at all. This is what most of the other singing holos lack.

This is not the insult that you think it is. Talent is no guarantee of success or meaningful production, and those artists who don't put in hard work and rely on other people to do it all don't have much right to feel any pride or accomplishment if they do get carried to success on another person's coattails. Suisei cuts her own path and every triumph she has is rightfully hers.

Which is something that she would scold me for saying, because she doesn't like separating her vtuber persona from her own. She said it a bunch of times "this is me".

Suisei is a star plain and simple. She carries herself with pride, confidence and dignity. Her presence on stage is pretty much unmatched. She knows she's got the X factor and she flaunts it. There's no-one else in Hololive who can match her power, her energy.

I quit 1:15 AM 2/3 of the way. Those high notes were not great.
Alice is NOT a banger. You rarely get bangers on songs that aren't 4/4 time signature.
