>>47776860Pretty much everyone who’s not HoloEN realized they had to find a way to appeal to the EN audience that didn’t involve copying JP vtubers (let’s be honest, the two who do in HoloEN are Kiara and Bae, so not exactly confidence inspiring). That means taking up parts of fleshtubing culture.
It’s annoying, most anons here hate it, I’m not really a fan of it myself, but I get it. The problem is, NijiEN copied so much of it that tourists can just fuck off to fleshtubers or kpop stars or whatever once they got sick of the excessive drama.
Pippa absolutely does it too (she literally said “I forgot that half of you don’t watch other vtubers” like an hour ago), but in a way that isn’t really interchangeable with fleshtubers. “Anime girl, but if she were a redneck” is a pretty damn distinct niche.
We can basically divide vtubers into “HoloEN” and “not HoloEN”. And in the latter category, Pippa stands out. So does Rin. NijiEN used to have its own category, but at this point, they’re just like any other vtuber who’s not in Hololive, except they have the added distinction of the Nijisanji brand label, which just means “not HoloEN *and* a toxic fanbase”.
