Old twitter was almost certainly been operating a pay for play scam for blue checks. And for accounts NOT to get blue checks.
There is a huge amount of money involved here and this has left a gigantic paper trial, because of course everyone paid over the internet with Paypal, etc.
- Soft option is random twitter employees were running side operations behind Jack's back, squeezing accounts for cash. IRS gets involved there maybe.
- Hard option is the same US government intelligence agents who were managing the influencing, censorship, and agit-prop operations, were also working accounts for cash on the side. That makes this politically explosive, and opens up the entire international NGO censorship complex to legal discovery for embezzlement and tax avoidance. There could be a genuine Watergate hiding amidst all the twitter DMs. If this gets Jim Jordan's way it could stir up a hornets nest of shit.
You could say a tweet from a 3D anime avatar livestreamer leading to the collapse of an international deep state spy-nexus and the aversion of WW3 is a little far fetched. But then you remember that it's 2023.
