They were known for their elaborate stage costume, the majority of which was created for their 1975 self-titled album by the New York City fashion company Sassy Inc. The costumes, designed by a number of well-known celebrities such as Mick Jagger and David Bowie, were often outlandish and colorful.
In early 2014, Fauna and Amelia joined the house band of the CBS-TV soap opera, The Young and the Restless, titled "The J. O. Smith Band". A year later, the band began recording an album, tentatively titled "No Place Like Home", at Ocean Way Studios in Los Angeles with producer David Malloy.
Fauna and Amelia later formed a new band, Amelia and Fauna, and performed several times in 2014 in Los Angeles with musical partners including members of the bands The Zombies and The Alan Parsons Project.
