The furry animals are irregular manifestations of his crewmates from his original universe
We don't know what the Lion, Apolleon, is, but he knows about Astel and is the one who gathered the furry versions of Astel's original crewmates by travelling through different planets before the Anniversary Livestream where the other Astel decides to invade the Earth
