From what I gathered from couple clips of the first EP and this OP, author is a hack who made this manga so popular by blowing out of proportion this "your idols are actually two-faced whores". And it's such a basic bitch surface take. In this OP she's always talking about lying, but come on, of course idols lie. But it's not a melodramatic "aha, I'm living a hollow life and my success is built on gullible idiots", as the manga/show seems to imply. Like, idols are actors, they're playing a role, chill the fuck out. They're normal people, not all of them are drama queens torn between private and public life. Producers and companies are normal too, just doing their job. And fans are just fans, normal, sane, they aren't all unicorns ready to shank their oshi if she talks to a male.
If I'm wrong in my assesment, then tell me I'm wrong. Bu for now, I think OnK is shit. I don't watch it for the same reason I don't watch most anime nowadays - it's themes are shallow and execution is overdramatic.
