>>4835420This post is correct but people miss a very important part. The japanese fucking HATED haachama's horror arc, thats why she was told to cut it short and never do it again.
I think many talents intuitively know they'd be better as "video streamers" a la game grumps rather than having to maintain an audience for an hour and a half three times a week.
Since Japan actually has more of a history of making shorts than of streaming, the only real reason I can think for Cover's ban on videos is superchats. Cover makes most of its revenue in SCs, and you can only SC on a livestream.
I personally think its ass, especially on colossal streamers like Pekora that obviously get enough money in one stream to cover for three or four of the smallest holos. I'd understand if they didnt let an ID, barely net positives, do a big, involved project. But fucking Korone should be able to do whatever she wants, she *already* made that money back.
hololiveJP automatically rejects anything that isnt streaming and the odd full-gen collab. EN can have holotalk and ame's podcast (if she does more) because the management is not the same (kiara talked about this).
rrat: they're afraid the big talents would be "too good" with massive projects getting 80k views per episode leaving choco & co , streamers that have a 'real' job, with sub-1k views, which looks like shit on the investment brochure.
Either way, again, even if Pekora gets literal zero views on her thing, she already made that money back that same week by streaming whatever she bought on sale on steam.
