Not really a curse; more like blessing;
/ybc/ was banished before, but they won vtl1 and used the star to stay alive and get accepted on the board.
/hiRys/ won vtl2 and got a new overhauled live2d face.
/tsunx/ won vtl3 and exploded (The best outcome for theirs talents)

The pattern now seems to suggest that /vsj+/ will avoid the spoon in VTL5 and /wah/ is now owed the star from VTL5 or otherwise if they do end up winning a future VTL then Ina will not graduate. This is the divination I have made based on the information available to me, and I have a high degree of confidence, you might even say one could screenshot this post.
