Their down fall is because they let them keep EVERYTHING. The only thing holding the talents from leaving was the possible public backlash but now they've seen it happen so the domino effect is in play. Quite literally, once you get famous in vshojo it is no longer helpful being in it and all you get is a percentage of your revenue being stolen so the only way to stop those people who've outgrown the company is by threatening their identity. That's why you got hololive talents still in the company and trying to restart or carry their audience somewhere else.
