I have run into vtubers who specifically don't want their streams to be archived, I guess they're hoping that if they fuck up there won't be any accountability. So it tends to be a huge red flag that it's someone not worth watching.

Youtube is a VOD platform that uses live-broadcasting to feed you the algorithms favourite videos.
Twitch is live-streaming platform that has to survive by pushing 10 ads every 15 minutes down your throat. Everlasting VODs are not sustainable because they are not compressed to oblivion like YT and have high bitrate

ironically one channel I watch had to private their livestreams because the algo was fucking their metrics up and burying the channel with the livestreams visible.
youtube is a shithole and the algorithm is literally a plaything for management that rarely actually does what it's claimed to do.

Nazuna has had vods for the span of a month or two since her debut stream as highlights, while any stream since the end of August is just available as normal vods. So it's literally just due to the streamer not wanting archives and not any technical stuff.
