It's not. Many worldscels like to claim "it's just calculating the mathematics out" but they have no physical explanation for how the many worlds pop into existence with each quantum event, it's just assumed they do. It arguably violates multiple conservation laws and is almost certainly inherently unfalsifiable.
That's not to say the copetards are correct, but most of the popular competing interpretations are hardly better. There isn't even a complete mathematical framework for pilot waves!
