the thing that baffles me about that is just how cheap they are. if they don't want to front up things then surely they could work something out like a loan paid back in percentages of income earned as the talent starts turning a profit.

I looked into this recently - HoloEN, Vshojo, and the indie scene has all the white women. NijiEN and the small corpos are all disproportionately Asian. Who knows why.
