I'd agree that Phase probably offered to let her buy out, mostly because I can't see Sakana leaving money on the table right before he needs to pay-out donothon refunds.
More a question of "did he pitch high and stick to his guns?" or "did he toss low and Yuri didn't think it was worth it/was too bad with finances to get a loan to cover it?"
Like, yeah, killing off a brand that creates content that's competitive to your own content does have some financial value. But not nearly as much as people think, particularly in a media market that's oversaturated with content anyways. That's more Sony vs. Disney level thinking.
