If your top earners and most prominent members' contract runs out and they refuse to renew but offer to buy out their identity there's not too much they can do.
Anything but saying yes would pit the entirety of the vTubing community against them and could easily spell doom for the agency, best to just let them leave and get both a wad of cash and lots of recognition from the fanbase at being so amicable than risk burning all the goodwill you have and be left with nothing.

They have had many major positive announcements this year as far as 774 goes, but the rebranding and disbanding of all the groups are just bad imo, and now Patra leaving just dampens the overall enjoyment of the corp, which is a big shame since I've been with them since 2018.
I hope HNST do stuff in future collabs. Might even fucking invite Eli at this point

I would argue that joining a company make the most sence when you are succesfull. Point proven no succesfull content creator are indie. Not a single one. Because something called workload. Being honest the current model of "company owns the rights to the character and you leave them behind when the talent leaves" was never going to last. To me it makes much more sense to give the offer to sell the IP rights to the person as they go, so you can get a chunk of cash on the way out instead of having the model gather dust. Just look at this thread as well, it wouldn't even be seen as a scummy/money grabbing move.

Once all these girls start to realize just how much power they really have it's inevitable.
vTubing agencies took a lot of inspiration from how talent agencies focused on IRL entertainment work, but whereas those have connections with countless entertainment programs, radio/tv, venues, producers, etc, etc, that are necessary for success the vTuber agencies really don't have any of that power to back their hold over the girls. It's the girls themselves, maybe a couple people that make assets for them, and Youtube, that's all there is.
Most vTubers should have quite a lot of hold over their agencies if they were willing to exercise it.

Not that anon but from what I hear other avid Holowatchers Perkora should be mostly fine since she relies on solo content anyways, but it would depend on if they're able to still go strong in terms of sponsorships, events like concerts and other things that Cover would've provided before.

The Holowall is not going to remain standing forever. As more and more successful agencies that don't require you to sign away everything pop up, there will be less and less reason to join Hololive, and the talent inflow will stagnate. Arguably the process has already started.

Debuting as a Holo vs debuting under quite literally anyone else, let alone independently is an entirely different universe of success.
If you debut as a Holo your success is guaranteed. Even if you fuck up over and over and over again or put in next to no effort you will still have success 99.999% of indies and other corporate vTubers can only dream of.

Sure, that is currently the case, but will it always be that way? The Hololive golden ticket is most appealing for people with the least talent and/or motivation, obviously Hololive does some screening to keep out the dregs, but the fact remains that people that have the ability to make it on their own already don't need Hololive.

If new generations of Hololive made up mostly of people who lose all ambition six months after debut keep showing up, eventually the companies reputation and brand power will decline.

This so much, people are unaware that when Gen3 first debuted that the initial star of the Gen was Noel due to her PL. Marine actually struggled in her first couple months and even menhera tweeted a bit on her PL before locking it up for good. Marine's break was a collab with Hayase Sou, a much more prominent vtuber from Nijisanji who provided Marine her first 'big stage' to witness what she was capable of. Marine went from her streams getting 15k-40k views and 600-1500 likes prior to that collab to getting 2x those numbers a month later as more and more people took notice and gave her a chance.

Most of their small corpos have already failed and the industry has consolidated. 774 and Re:Act will eventually fail and there will only be 4-5 relevant JP corps left.
