It’s because there’s no better show of talent then making a game that will be guaranteed to have tens to even hundreds of thousands of players playing. Making a hololive game comes with a built in audience especially if it’s good, you get hundreds of thousands of eyes on it when holos stream it and it will look great on a resume.

In Unity you learn by slowly modifying what you're copypasting to fit your precise needs, in Unreal you learn slowly every time you need a custom node to fit your precise needs.
Then after you do this for some period of time, you're as good as the average Microsoft programmer.
Then you slap your game in your portfolio and get a job working on Redfall.

But really, the most important part of any of the things is finding the artists and animators, since the programming side can be completed by coordinated monkeys and AI.

I'm glad they chose to contact Ollie behind the scenes for voice work since she seems to do anything she wants before running that through management (Boba shop rap is the biggest I've seen before this)

Nah. Holocure is outright better than 90% of VS clones out there, and arguably VS itself. And even if they aren't good, there's also stuff like NuiNuiQuest, Council RPG, and a few others too so OP's question still remains.

To be fair though holocure is just a slightly different version of an already existing game that also plays itself after a while.
I don't really like how Idol Showdown plays but I'll give the people who made it a lot more credit than the guys who made vampire survivor but Holo.
