Quick pro tip, though: A lot more Japanese people are fluent in English now than before. It’s still not amazing, but it’s a lot more than you might think. I guess this next part is also obvious, but bring cash. Also, Akihabara is kind of a tourist trap in terms of actually buying anime merch. I think Ikebukuro or somewhere is supposed to be better (ie cheaper). I personally didn’t give a shit, since I wanted the experience of being in Akihabara, so feel free to ignore that part if you don’t care, like I didn’t.
