They like Korone. They love doggo, they love the cartoon voice, they love the heking wholesome vibe, they love a good gamer that can beat the shit out of hard games and has very niche game options.
They also love Myth specials, they love gen unity, they love collabs and camaraderie. They also show this love when they tune in to the sports festival, the Holofes and so on.
They also liked memes, Coco's meme review shit was a massive hit, I remember seeing people only watching that. They like inside jokes and humor based on the many quirky characters of Hololive.
They like the REAL lore of Hololive, not cosmic garbage of SPACE GODDESSES shit, they like jokes about Subaru being a duck or Pekora being a war criminal.
They don't want males. The audience that tunes in to watch HoloEN x HolostarsEN collabs never shows up for the guys, or for the girls. It's exclusively an audience that is interested in this shit. Actual Hololive audience in the west just likes CGDCT just like in Japan, Holostars JP never got remotely popular in the west.
So to summarize:
Cute funny characters, good gamers, memes, light hearted fun, cute girls, fun events and collabs.
For Gen 3 there should be no lore, any "lore" should be shit you can sell in a very easy pitch and just serves as a visual glue that holds things together.
Like HoloX, they're a spy/evil organization gimmick, so they wear a lot of black and leather, they had "roles" assigned. Their theme has a feel, an aesthetic, and it's fun stylish and cool.
This is a perfect "lore".
Or look at Holo Fantasy (Gen 3). They are all sort of fantasy JRPG inspired tropes, you got a knight, an elf, a pirate, a necromancer, and a bunny girl.
They look great together, they are cute, it's fun, it's colorful.
That's all they needed to have.
They have all each developed their lore individually too.
HoloEN3 needs to keep it simple, hire fun girls, girls who actually STREAM a lot, girls who can do memes, have creativity, can play a character and play games well and have good game choices.
Am I asking for a lot? Does this sound too hard to find? Well that's what HoloJP has, and that's what the HoloJP members who became popular in the west are like. It's the bar Hololive has set, and that bar should not be lowered for EN. It's the standard EN3 should try to aim for.
