I'm a sub purist, but watching a show and playing a game are two different things. Personally, i have a hard time keeping track of the subtitles if they happen when i'm in combat, because i focus too much on the enemy.

Sometimes the EN chuuba can't resist the weebish compulsion to hear JP dubbing and you get that anyway, but come the fuck on, English is fine too. Especially when a game takes place in a Western or European setting.

I prefer JP and would never play a game in English. I would certain prefer vtubers do it too.
But holy fuck, I’m in the minority. That’s obvious. I know that perfectly well. I don’t expect a vtuber to pick me over the majority of their audience, because making sure they don’t unnecessarily filter viewers is more important than meeting my relatively arbitrary preferences.

I guess there can be rational takes on this board. For me it's always been such a weird and dramatized issue. Just watch/play in whatever language you enjoy, it affects no one, and using one language over the other doesn't make you better/worse. Sorry that's just my two cents on the issue

Depends on the game. Stuff like Resident Evil and Metal Gear Solid and clearly meant to be played in English.

RE2 remake was the first ever RE game to even have a JP dub at all; the series was always designed to be in english and subbed in japanese.
