They could've been a wholesome trio for a long time, but now they have no choice but to keep baiting controversies for drama. However, they can only get so much out of being edgy before they end up taking it too far. It's a snowball effect. They can't maintain an equal amount of edginess or else their fans will get bored and move on, so they have to increase the edginess just to keep their current fans interested. But then that risks doing irreversible damage to their reputation until even their fans think they've gone too far. They're damned if they do and damned if they don't. That's why you should never appeal to the edgelord crowd.
