>>50121915yes that is also an option, however, she says she doesn't make a lot from the videos and she doesn't do them enough to really justify the price. Where as having a cool niche setup like this would make asmr streams and videos even more special imo.
>>50122220I think you're missing the point slightly. typical asmr mics are small diaghram condensers meaning, by design, they have a much lower tolerence for loud sounds (KU100 being an exception, i'll get to that) where as these large diaphram mics have a much larger tolerence before they start clipping (the nasty distortion that sometimes happens) meaning she can touch it at high gain and it wont clip, she already knows how to use a limiter and it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to learn what a compressor does to tame super loud sounds.
the 414's and ku100 have a similar tolerance level but its going to be more of a financial burden for the same effect.
>Yeah this would definitely damage the mics and not sound nearly as good as her current setupI disagree, damage is completely avoidable and I believe her learning this method of ASMR would sound better than her current rig and even comparable (or better) than the ku100.
The 414's have an omni-directional setting which is what asmr mics use to do what they do. the point of this settup (sponges and head apperatus included) is to allow her to do everything she wants to do including ear noms, touching ears, kisses, massages, and even the hair washing, it'd just take some more prep and learning to pull it off for less than £8000
TL;DR:
im autisticshe can achieve what she wants with this setup for a fraction of the cost and it sounds as good if not better than ku100
