>>50111217> Pekora pretty much called her ballsySo... it's pretty obvious and well known that most people on this thread - and this board - don't speak Japanese.
There's a concept in Japanese culture called 引く, literal meaning being "pulling away from".
When used in a social context, it's used as a way of expressing disgust at something.
気持ち悪い (kimochiwarui) is a typical phase associated with this response in anime, but irl it's considered EXTREMELY rude to say that to strangers.
So the more socially acceptable thing is to just slowly pull away from them in body language and conversationally, in order to express that disgust without offending the other party.
You can see the language and body language in action here :

Every single JP I've seen that talked about this game is basically expressing this from their tone as well as body language. All of them are quite disgusted that Bae chose to play this game, but obviously due to the nature of Hololive they will not publicly shit on her for it. But for Japanese society - which is VERY repressed and not that expressive - this level of disgust is basically like the entire class pulling away from you when you're out walking in public.
Obviously they will remain friendly and accomodating on the surface, but it's this type of thing that stops foreigners from being to "properly" make Japanese friends. It's also quite evident in the difference of treatment between Bae and Irys off-stream.
