if you work a convenience store there isn't much thought or effort required. yes, it is it's own hell, but it's one where an hour = x$ every time except for overtime or sunday premium. there are no seasonal decreases, performance issues, etc -- you show up and do the job and get paid a flat rate.
as someone who's been out of work these last 6 months i sometimes envy my old self, as stressed out as i was. i've never been more suicidal than i am now, despite being comfortable and able to spend money on very nice things. well i say never but rather my past suicidal tendencies, awhile ago, were based on anger and other emotions -- now i just feel empty. everything feels fruitless... etc etc, not my blog.
you might think her stupid, and i might too, but there is something to the relaxation of consistency in a job like minimum wage.
