Do corpos use bot farms to inflate their view numbers? Would they be able to make a profit off of doing that directly, or would they mainly be doing it even at expense just to make their talents look more popular? What would the downside be?

They all care because the reason they even began to vtube is to escape the 9 to 5 normal job grind. This is especially true for anyone joining a corpo, big or not. They all want to stream as their job and make fucktons of money by doing the bare minimum. All of them care. ALL of them.

Let me rephrase the question. Beyond the needed viewers needed to make a living, how much do vtubers care about numbers? Going down from 500 to 50 CCV might be a financial, disaster, but going down from 5,000 to 1,000 probably wouldn't be. In the latter case, self esteem might be the bigger casualty.

1k views (live or vod) are like $18 and that's without adblocks. Thats practically nothing to holos and the reason why some of them don't even bother to stream anymore. Hell even superchats are chump change according to Kson, which makes sense since even if they somehow reach past 1M in sc all they'll get after cuts is around 350k. Weirdly enough most of the money holomems make doesn't really come from the streaming side of the job.

and youtube has a vod system where the vod is treated like a normal video afterwards yes majority of adrev comes from vods and because twitch dosent keep vods indefinitely they dont have this system
