>>50490124I am not going to sperg out whenever there is a single coed collab like some do my strong preference is cute girls doing stuff together and not the incestuous twitch (and now sadly niji) vtuber mixed gender cliques with flirting, grooming, coombaiting and lots of interpersonal drama.
That whole side of vtubing feels like looking in at a friend group/party you are not part of or even important to in any way, whereas the more artificial stuff that panders to the audience primarily sells the illusion of you being more important than you actually are, whether that be a bunch of guys who want to see girls streaming for (You) or their other cute girl friends. Or the same thing for girls who just want to see cute boys.
I think the artifice and the fantasy you are providing the viewer is important for vtubing and these ironically detatched ones from the indie scenes barely qualify as far as I'm concerned.
>I just don't get the issue. They're comedians that want to make the audience laugh. But we clearly fundamentally see it as a different thing and there is probably no reconciling it.
I don't see my oshi as just a comedian to make me laugh, and whilst what you are saying about feeling cucked being pretty schizo isn't wrong, given that I have more feelings for her than a simple entertainer I have zero desire to see her spend her time on stream hanging out with guys, it isn't a pleasant viewing experience and I can empathise with the few niji fans who feel the same way having it forced on them out of the blue in a stream literally advertised as the opposite no less.
