The horror is delivered through analog media (mainly recreations to look like it, not actually tapes or film) It was pretty effective when I first discovered it personally, but tropes have cropped up pretty quick like "It seems like a normal informational tape, but then the music cuts out and something disturbing happens" that just get overplayed. I think Mister Manticore is a pretty good creator though, it's not straight horror, just as much if not more surrealist. Doesn't fall into the same reliance on tropes nearly as much, and if your guilty pleasure is "DEEPEST LORE" then it's worth checking out.
