She now owns the IP and has given lucid license to sell her merch that they already produced. Her split from merch is over 7% of its price, meaning between shipping and production, lucid is still better than niji

In principle this is done to make sure broadcasters promote Canadian talent, and both English and French content, however, it could also be used to suppress naughty speech (anti-lockdown sentiment, for example).
When those bills passed last year, I remember some Canadian Youtubers talking about moving to the USA in order to retain control of their content.

Lucid used to be called 4v(for vtubers) and has conceptually been a "talents first" agency.
To the point where donations go to the talents first and then those send management their cut.
Dont know about the other talents but its pretty much the opposite of how most other companies do it
