Obviously it depends on how popular/successful you are, but I'd say being a streamer (and even more so a streamer where you don't have to show your real face) is a a pretty good gig by comparison. I'd say most single women struggle a bit when their looks fade and they're not in a committed long-term relationship. They're so used to getting preferential treatment that when it gradually stops, it feels like hell. For most men, that's how it's been from day 1 so not much changes.

I mean, in case of average comedians (especially japanese) they make absolutely fuckall money from their job (like $300-400/month; obviously, the more famous they are the better they get paid, but I'm talking about average / non-popular ones) so they actually have to take a second job and work somewhere else. Wednesday's Downtown actually covered a few cases like that where their comedian guests admitted that even though they appear on TV and have some comedy gigs the actual salary after agency cut is miserable (especially compared to Downtown themselves, who are on the top of japanese comedy world).
