Most vtubers are completely unentertaining talentless hacks who are coasting by entirely on the fact that they're an egirl with a cookie cutter anime avatar. There are very few consistently funny vtubers
Vox is "annoying" and crass but he at least has something to talk about all the time. Branching out is good. It's like how Kojima is able to make such entertaining stories in video games because he watched loads of western movies - Game writers who stick solely to other video games as their source of inspiration are probably not going to make something very good, and vtubers are even less interesting than that.
Vox wants numbers but at least he didn't basically fucking quit like Shu playing valorant twice a week as his content

Not a fan of the guy at all or his content but that's completely normal with pretty much every kind of creative output after an initial period of relative success. It's a hard thing to overcome, a lot of people don't handle it well, and there's no one-size-fits-all solution - everyone kind of has to handle it their own way, which is a shame because it's also such a pivotal moment in one's career. In saying that, I think the worst thing he could do is listen to you retards.

That's silly, anon. It's like saying that as long as you make enough money, nothing else matters.
It's just basic Maslow's hierarchy of needs. Sure, money is important when you don't have enough. However, pass a certain level income, there are several things more important that money might or might not reflect well. A lot of upper-middle or higher class people care more about things like recognition or status than money, for example.
CCV and VOD views reflect one thing: how big your fanbase is. How many people you are entertaining. How well you are doing your job as an entertainer. I dare say plenty of big VTubers care more about that than their direct monthly income, as long as they don't have to worry about living expenses. Even more so when they have access to the post-processed CCV so "culled CCV" isn't an excuse either.
All in all, I don't care about male VTubers, but it's just understandable that Vox isn't happy when his numbers go down (which indicated that he is getting progressively less popular compared to his peak).

If my oshi is streaming something that I don't care about in not gonna tune in but that doesn't mean that they aren't my oshi. I'd say that's not uncommon either especially with NijiEn being big as and built around the idea of tuning into the streams you want and tuning out of the ones you don't.

I think part of it is because people are fed up with the bullshit that is Japanese permissions. The wait to see their chuuba play a game is probably more interesting than the pay off of finally seeing them play it because it takes too damn long. As a result it results in a lot of stale content, compounded by the fact that there's so many normalfag nijis mostly playing and doing the same thing with little deviation.
Save for the few odd moments like a talent like Rosemi singing metal songs like Down with the Sickness during karaoke.

Sponsors definitely care about several metrics in YT analytics page. Most importantly, engagement rate, CTR / impression, viewership retention, and to lesser extents, VOD Views and CCV. These metrics are displayed on YT analytics page, and you can only get those from YT
If those aren't reliable, no sponsor would want to work with YT streamers because they wouldn't have any detailed way to evaluate the sponsored's performance. Heck, one of the reason why YT put up so many viewer filters (or as /vt/ put it, "cull") was because they wanted to sell their numbers as valuable & accurate

In the JP side vtubing is a niche of anime so they can do events like going on TV and even having billboards and their faces plastered on buses to promote them. In EN there’s no culture like that, no animal capital or even just place to gather (besides LA every once in a while). Niji and Holo need something much more concrete to actually be worth taking seriously (anime, games, etc.) because the novelty will fade eventually like all the other YouTubers that faded to irrelevancy 10 years ago. It’s time for these chuubas to do some critical thinking about what type of content creator they want to be, their vision, and if they even want to be streamers. Although Niji EN is dead in the water because of incompetent PR and management, Holo EN is still somewhat salvageable.

Again, I blame both Anycolor and Cover for not investing in their EN branches in a big way. Why did Ame have to handle building her studio nearly all on her own? Why does Pomu have to wait the better part of a year just for some minor tweaks to her 3D? Why has neither company gone forward with building a 3D studio in the US?
And it's not impossible either. Nintendo and Sega both got domestic production and distribution running in the United States in just a few years back in the 80s. Yes, they needed help, but that's what industry connections are for.

The topic of EN vtubing dying is sort of a complicated one. Big corps like Holo and Niji's are on the decline, but that's for different reasons like HoloEN only having a handful of talents that stream on any consistent basis, and most of the fans are only watching the female talents. With NijiEN there's a lot more going on than that, because you have some talents going full menhera with no GOOD management to reign them in and help them, then theres talents that are complete drama magnets that created an atrocious image for the branch that can impact other members, and truthfully the branch just isn't really growing anymore. They grew super fast and it didnt feel like there was a ton of effort made to solidify their fanbase during said growth. Or its a different problem where the fanbase is still mostly there but the talents are unintentionally competing with each other for viewership and cash since they arent attracting new people to Niji anymore.

There's also the fact that Vtubing is just another form of streaming, so unless the interest already vanished from normalfags after all this time, its likely those fans that love vtubers have just moved on from relying on the two JP giants as the only way to get their fix. Plus, smaller corpos and indies are slowly growing and doing well for themselves, and there's still quite a few indies that seem to be able to make some decent income off of vtubing. If they arent full on able to make it a job, then at least its good supplemental income I'd imagine.

I know you guys want to be hip contrarians by not liking the big corpos. But no, indies and smaller corpos aren't doing notably better either. Every week some venture falls apart, for every 1 vtuber who 100 more views this month there are 100 who give up cause they couldn't even reach 2 view status. There is no indie surge, no one has suddenly become a big name in streaming. The best thing you can say is like with normal streaming if you can stick it out long enough you might be able to get a small sustainable fanbase.

Both Peko and Miko had their rough period right at the start of their vtubing days, they got it over with quickly. Miko completely reinvented herself - she started as a kind of boring pure shrine maiden type and, when she was thinking about quitting, decided to experiment by doing a 180 and becomming a derranged cartoon character - since she was already at rock bottom before, she had nothing at all to lose and it worked wonderfully, even unintentionally helping Hololive branch out overseas and become as popular as it is today. I think it's fine as long as it isn't your sole bread and butter. Marine is a solid artist, singer and comedian on top of providing occasional coomer content. Okayu does some of the lewdest ASMR content in Hololive and is a total tease but plays good games decently well and is a comfy but funny streamer who is both good in solo streams and collabs. Vox went all out on coomer shit and yeah, it's kind of bit him in the ass a bit.
