design : gura win. blue is more popular color than orange and guras design is much more simpler than kiaras. simpler didnt mean better but kiara had too much going on on her design. two hat? drumstick? sword n shield? kamen rider belt? hair color?? ear hair???. simpler design also make it easier to draw for fan artists, equal more free advertisements.
debut : idk about predebut era but i watch their debut live. the only thing i can remember about kiara is her japanese is so good i thought she is legit japanese, thats it, nothing special otherwise, in my place peoples know at least 3 language excluding english btw so i didnt think its that important. while guras is more memorable for me, her good singing performance stuck with me for a while. maybe im just biased because i like music with modern jazz feel but after seing so much clips of it i doubt it. and the meme, dont forget the meme, zoomer like memes.
experience : gura looks like she have some experience at streaming in general while kiara having so much technical problem early on, kiara also have a hard time handling chats and her free to backseat policy makes it worse. imagine youre kiara, unfamiliar job playing unfamiliar games while 20k peoples constantly telling you what to do while your computer secretly plotting to troll you every hour or so. also, i think kiaras thumbnail, stream title and game choices is a lil bit bland compared to gura at least, its just my opinion tho.
personality : kiara is an emotional wreck, at least 1 or 2 months after debut. low self esteem, she care too much about her hater, care too much about her numbers, hyper af, tryhard, often interrupt (i blame discord delay), forced ship pairing, she likes beating her jokes until its dead, etc. and she swear a LOT, she didnt care, kfps didnt care, majority of peoples didnt care either but i bet my ass that youtube algorithm care. while gura in comparison didnt have too much problem, except she is too safe and a lil bit.. depressed? and shit at games? but kiara is also shit at games.
voice : early on kiaras mic is shit, her fake voice also make it worse. gura didnt have this problem, i know gura is prolly fake her voice too but gura didnt sound annoying at all even though shes the loli chara of holoen.
tldr : kiara has too much problem early on, killing her momentum.
