>>51157968Yagoo has always wanted to make Holostars a success. With the IPO in the works, it became important to show that Holostars was growing (see the chart in their report showing the growth in debut CCV for newer Hololive gens), and Uproar showed that JP was a dead end in that regard. All someone like Omega would have had to do was tell him that EN Holostars will work because the western market is different from JP. That latter bit is taken as gospel by Japanese entertainment companies reaching out to the West, without putting real thought into what those differences are and what common traits their foreign and domestic audiences share. Omega could even take the examples of Vshojo, NijiEN, and the western indie scene and show it as “proof” that it will work because the West is different, without stopping to think about why it might work for them and whether it could work for HoloEN. The other factor is that what Cover thinks is an ideal applicant isn’t necessarily what’s going to be popular. For example, Kiara got accepted almost immediately, as did Mori, though you could argue based on her music that it works frequently a popularity standpoint. Looking at Bae’s Discord leak and when the Council girls’ accounts were created, Bae was probably the first to be hired, and Mumei and Kronii were last. So you have Cover making a bad decision based on half-baked assumptions, then compounding it by getting more applicants that they consider “desirable” than can fit in a single gen, and choosing to split it, rounding out their second batch with filler picks.
>>51160422It’s up to the girls whether they want to actually engage with Tempus, for the most part. Tempus1 had an introductory meeting with the girls as part of their onboarding process, so it could have been that. Vesper said that they’ve never spoken to Mumei beyond that meeting, on the other hand.
