Isn't the literal translation closer to "please" or "We're happy to announce" given how Japanese formality levels work? Maybe it literally is not capable of being translated but from my miniscule reps there are definitely alternatives that could be used that would mean, "We deeply regret to inform" that keep the same basic level of formality. How does it get so fucked in translation?
