Small chuuba did a subathon and got chargebacked into the negatives. Apparently it's been happening to other chuubas as well. Anyone heard or seen anything?

The creator basically shoulders the transaction fee from the payment provider.
It's not a twitch exclusive thing as well, but a rather common attack for a lot of sevices that offer refunds (but ultimately stupid because you leave a lot of traces and don't gain much)

Taking a guess here that the change back is probably a separate event from the gifting itself. Probably a different colum is the money she got during her subathon and this is a day or so after, in which case we would need to see those combined.

Is twitch deducting the whole 5$ from the streamer of just what they payout from mthe sub? If it's the latter then yeah it sucks and twitch should come up with better safeguards, but the streamer isn't lossing money they didn't get. If it's more then the payout then twitch is actually scamming the streamer, which is appalling behaviour.

It's really easy and you can do it from the credit company's app or website. Just pick a transaction, select dispute, and choose or write "services not rendered" as the reason. The chargeback is supposed to be investigated before you get a refund, but I guess everyone is lazy now.

Note that most companies will blacklist whatever cards or accounts were involved if you do a chargeback. That's true even if you're doing it for legit reasons.
