Ywuria almost did the same thing, get some model that looked totally different to her.

Lumi went through a similar change, her facial features became a lot sharper in nature, whereas older Lumi had a very soft feel to it, shading and outlines wise.
Likewise the various changes Sora and Miko went through in Hololive, Sora more so. They stuck to the same overall design, just subtle changes in body structure that refined the design to perfection.
HUGE changes are just clashy as fuck unless there is some thematic reason for it.
Like someone having an evil form for example, or a pixelated version (pixel Shondo is the cutest), or those Omori-like models and other special use-case models, Chibi versions, etc.
