>>52394284UnAlive was an experimental album where she wanted to work with a bunch of different producers (compared to her previous work with Your Mori which had a single producer and DEAD BEATS which was entirely her and K's) as a sort of last hurrah before she began her contract with UMG because she believed at the time her freedom to determine her musical direction was going to be severely limited. As such, no two songs sound alike and it's a fun compilation where she also gets to flex the vocal reps she'd been putting in since Your Mori. She looks back on it fondly since it was the last time she had complete control over what she could make, but it's considered a bit of a hidden gem that got buried by how closely the announcement that she joined a record label followed. Because of how eclectic it is, it's hard to pick out which few songs really define it, but here's my favorites:
https://youtu.be/SwOat0JYPAYhttps://youtu.be/tuTSmrDwyLwhttps://youtu.be/Hve3-Uum7dkShinigami Note was her major label debut under UMG. UMG was largely responsible for the overall direction of the EP because Mori was entirely unique among the artists under their umbrella, thus they wanted to test her brand viability with something safe. One of the biggest benefits that was advertised with Mori's induction as a label artist was the access to bigger name producers, hence why you might see some names you recognize like DECO*27, Giga, and TeddyLoid. Interestingly, UMG mandated each producer on the album to use RIP as the skeleton for their tracks, so I think that the coolest thing about it is hearing each of their interpretations, and how Mori worked with it as a result by essentially sampling her own music (with some exceptions; two of the tracks are actually from a grab bag that UMG offers to all of their artists. The most interesting part of that is that mine--and Mori's--favorite song on the album is one of these miscellaneous tracks). The tradeoff to all of this corporate oversight is that the EP itself is lacking in lyrical depth, which Mori still laments, but it's still a fun collection of "summer bangers," in her words.

It's a concept album based on the Seven Deadly Sins (plus a few extra, for style). After the success of Shinigami Note, UMG relinquished a lot of creative control over to Mori, and as such, the overall direction and thematic and lyrical depth feels much more at home with what people came to associate with being "her sound". It's similar to UnAlive in that it's a combination of different producers and styles, but much more unified by its concept. It's also the release with the single largest body of new music, as despite UnAlive having more tracks, it included a couple of her prior singles and multiple versions of one song, which is pretty impressive when you consider this is how she capped off 2022 as being the year where she doubled the amount of music in her discography in half the time, including the two prior releases.

Every release of hers sounds different, and she's come a long, long way from being the cringekino rapper with no confidence in her voice to wanting to become holoEN's very own rapping rockstar utahime. Her idol journey is something you can follow from the beginning just by listening to her music.
